Meet the Founder

Mary Akella is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with 20 years of experience driving operational transformation, leadership development, and cultural change across healthcare, manufacturing, and service industries. She combines deep analytical expertise with a people-first leadership approach.

Mary has successfully led strategy deployment, built leadership development programs from the ground up, and driven improvement initiatives at every organizational level. Her work at GE Healthcare embedded Lean principles into her core methodology, while her experience at Mount Sinai Health System further deepened her expertise in transforming complex healthcare environments.

Mary founded Harmony on the belief that lasting success comes from understanding people’s challenges and partnering with them to solve the right problems. She’s known for her collaborative style, which ensures every voice is heard and leads to solutions teams are eager to implement. With a talent for simplifying complexity and unlocking insights, she helps organizations drive meaningful change.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys crafting, swapping insights from The Profit with her husband, and adventuring with her two young children.
